On February 27, 2008 we held one of our first formal Tech Nights at the school. Our technical program at LCIS has finally taken off the ground in a big way and one of our foundation goals is to make sure we keep our parents and community members up-to-date. Training, discussions and guest speakers will all prove to be part of this process.

At this month's Tech Night we were able to bring along Mark Palmer from the Outwit Your Kid group - an organization started to educate parents on the concerns and need-to-knows about raising a child among all of today's new technical/communication tools. The conversation was eye-opening and raised a lot of great questions and some super suggestions on talking to our kids about technology and where it's going these days. You can learn more about the organization and the Tech Night materials by checking out the downloadable materials from Outwit Your Kid.

Our first Tech Night also gave us an opportunity to outline all of the new services we have launched at LCIS. We have some incredible tools that have already begun to touch every aspect of our school. From laptops, to digital whiteboards, web-based assignments, online attendance and daily reports on our students' progress - everyone involved, including parents, have some wonderful materials to work with. And as is the case with technology, there is more to come......

Look ahead for future Tech Nights at the school and the launch of our online training center for Staff and Parents. We're always developing at LCIS.
