As a student works through their academic years here, our goal with our programs is to help each learner gain a sharper perspective on themselves as not only learners, but also individuals within a broader global community. Our technology program is perhaps one of the most prominent examples of this philosophy. With our web-based tools, machine access from nursery through grade 12, our interactive digital whiteboards, consistent staff-development, and an integration model for technology within the classroom, you will find that both our students and staff alike have a greater appreciation for working and learning within the information age. 
Technology within education can sometimes be a challenge for very large schools or programs divided among different campuses or locations. At Lyford Cay International School our program’s success is leveraged on the intimacy of our staff, students and the campus we share. From every angle of our campus, students have access to our school’s wireless network. Every machine on campus is filtered through our monitoring and access location software. We can pinpoint where students are, what they are working on and exchange ideas and information from both inside the classroom and out. We also provide our program as an open book to users. Students and parents learn very early on how the machines work, what the school’s policies and expectations are, and why the school tracks its information both safety and stability reasons. After all, computers are only as good as they work and only as safe as they are understood.

Our web-based classroom offers a single-source management tool for course materials, notes, assignments, student comments and much more. It is also endlessly available from wherever a student has access to the internet. Going away on a vacation? Why not stay in touch with your classmates during your downtime? Home sick? That’s no reason not to get the days notes, audio of the lecture or participate in a discussion on the course topics.
Our digital whiteboards provide sleek, immediate access to capture every note that’s taken. Not only just a whiteboard however, they are tools of engagement that draw students in. With sound, animation, a full range of audio/visual options and tools – an instructor’s presentation becomes something more than just chalk on a board. Even the students have access to them. Every student machine runs the same software, has the same tools, and the same means of putting their work on the boards, sharing it with their class and capitalizing on a whole new world of possibilities.
