After completing the application process, admission decisions are made as soon as possible and based on a student’s age, the previous school experience, testing results and the absence of any moderate to severe diagnosed learning disabilities.  The Admissions Director will contact you immediately once a decision has been made with a full analysis of the credentials analysis and placement.

The school reserves the right to deny admission to any applicant if, in the school’s opinion, there are reasons to believe that admission would not be in the best interest of the applicant or the school. The school reserves the right to deny or postpone admission if the school determines that a class is full or nearing a program overload. Since one of the school's biggest strengths is our class size, we make every effort to keep this in consideration as admission selections are granted.

During periods when the capacity of the school is insufficient to accommodate all qualified students who seek enrollment, the admissions committee shall consider among others, the following factors:

(1)   whether the student is a sibling of a current student
(2)   whether the student is a child of a staff member
(3)   whether the student is a resident of the immediate geographic area
(4)   corporate sponsorship of the student
(5)   whether the student’s parents attended/graduated from Lyford Cay International School
(6)   whether the student is a returning student
(7)   the likely length of time the student will remain at school

If a grade level is full and all the places are taken a “wait list’ will be created and applicants will be considered, in date-order of receipt of application with priority given to the factors mentioned above. In order for the school to give weight to special conditions mentioned it is necessary for applications to be made at least a year before desired entry date.

The school does have a Learning Enhancement Program and is able to accommodate some students with mild to moderate learning disabilities. Their admission is handled on a case-by-case basis. The school also reserves the right to require special educational supplementary measures at parental expense.
