The school was founded in 1960 by E.P.Taylor for children of employees and nearby residents in his grand property venture on the western side of Nassau. The initial enrolment was just 9 students and 2 teachers.
The school has dramatically changed over the years, but there is one thing that has remained constant – the color of the student uniforms. The bright turquoise and gold trim is no accident. E.P.Taylor selected the uniforms himself, modeled after the racing colors of his thoroughbred stud farm, home to his famous Northern Dancer who sired Triple Crown winners like Secretariat.
By 1981 the number of teachers matched the initial number of students and by then there were 147 students enrolled among those 9 instructors.
The school undertook one of its biggest developments in 1993/4 when it opened up the new Early Learning Centre followed by an expansion to the Elementary school.
Between the years of 1994-97, the school increased its student body from 100 to over 200; the grade levels
went from Nursery-Grade 6 to Grade 9; and the staff numbers expanded from 16 to 30.
It received International School accreditation in 1998 and work was completed on the new Middle & High School building in 2003.
There have been many famous visitors to the school over the years, including :
